Class insights for teachers
See how the class is doing, not what one student typed.
On every assignment, the teacher sees where the class is, how it used Nova, what it asked about and how it studied. As class totals, live.

On every assignment
Six things the teacher sees.
In the Insights tab of each piece of class work, on the web and in the app.
Where the class is
Done, working on it, not started, the average, steps ticked. Each student's progress is in the class list.
Working on it each day
How many students did something for it each day, from the day it was posted.
How Nova helped
The kinds of help asked for: explain, a hint, check my work, quiz me, plan, where to look, or do it for me.
What they brought
Files, photos and links students gave Nova with their questions: study beyond the class's own material.
Studying for it
Flashcard reviews, practice tests handed in, and the practice average.
What they asked about
Nova sums up the topics most students asked about, without names or quotes.
What a teacher does with it
A signal you can teach from.
Examples from our example class: what the insights said, and what a teacher might do next.
13 students asked why the empire split in two.
Ten minutes on it at the start of the next class, before the drafts.
8 students haven't started, two days out.
A short note to the class, or a word with them in class, while there's still time.
3 questions asked Nova to do it for them.
Nova helped them work it out instead. A good moment to talk about using AI well.
9 practice tests handed in, averaging 72%.
Point the rest of the class to the practice and flashcards Nova makes from their own notes.
Built for trust
Why totals, not transcripts.
Students use Nova honestly when their questions stay theirs. Teachers get the signal without the transcript.
Teachers see
- The class work they post, and who has joined
- How far each student is on it: not started, working on it, done
- Class totals: how Nova helped, what the class asked about, how it studied
- The marks they release
Teachers never see
- A student's Nova chats, or any one question
- Their notes and files
- Their own items and other classes
- Marks a student keeps for themselves
The five-student rule. No total shows until at least five students are behind it, and a class under five gets no insights at all. Topics are summed up by Nova from the class's questions without names or quotes. Students are told what their teachers see. The school sees its people, its rules and use in totals.
Questions
Questions about class insights
Can a teacher read what a student asked Nova?
No. Teachers see class totals only: how many students asked about the work, the kinds of help asked for, and topics Nova sums up from the class's questions without names or quotes. A student's chat is never shown to anyone at the school.
How does Stardo know which assignment a question is about?
From the student's own words: a question that names the work, or follows on from one that did, counts for that work. Asking about something else doesn't. Nothing is guessed from outside Stardo.
Why does nothing show for small classes?
In a small group, a total can point to one student. So a class needs five students before insights show, and each part waits until five students are behind it.
Is it live?
Yes. Progress and totals update as students work, and the teacher's view refreshes every minute while it's open. Topics are summed up when the teacher asks Nova, at most every six hours.
Does it work on the phone?
Yes. Teachers see the same insights on the web and in the Stardo app, under each piece of class work.
