Delete your account
Last updated October 31, 2026
You can delete your Stardo account, and the information in it, at any time. You don't need to give a reason.
In the app
- Open your Account (the round button at the top of Home).
- Scroll to Close your account.
- Enter your password and tap Close my account. If you sign in with Google or Microsoft, type DELETE instead.
On the website
- Sign in at stardo.app/sign-in.
- Open Account from the menu with your name.
- Under Close your account, choose Close my account, confirm with your password (or type DELETE if you sign in with Google or Microsoft), and choose Close it.
Can't sign in?
Email privacy@stardo.app from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account". If you can't use that email, tell us what you can about the account and we'll find a safe way to check it's yours. We'll confirm and close it within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
A child's account
A parent who manages a younger child's account closes it from the child's page in Stardo: open the child, then choose Close the account. A student whose account was made by a teacher can ask a parent, the teacher or the school, or write to privacy@stardo.app.
What happens next
- You're signed out everywhere at once, and nobody can use the account.
- For 30 days the account is kept closed, in case you change your mind: write to us and we'll restore it.
- After 30 days we delete it for good, with everything in it: your profile, terms, courses, assignments and marks, calendar, files and notes (and the files themselves), Nova chats, study packs, Stardust, connections to Google, Microsoft and calendars, notification settings, devices and sign-in history. Links to parents and classes are removed, and share links you made stop working.
- Copies in our backups disappear when those backups are replaced on their regular schedule.
What we keep
- Payment records (what was paid and when), for as long as tax law requires (in Canada, generally six years).
- The record of staff actions on accounts, which shows we follow our rules. It doesn't contain your content.
- Work that belongs to others: class work a teacher posted stays with their class. If you teach a class, it passes to a co-teacher, and a class with no one left to teach it is removed. A younger child's account you made passes to their other linked parent, if there is one.
Before you go
- Cancel a plan bought in the app first. Closing your account stops a plan bought on the website from renewing (you aren't charged again), but it can't cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play: cancel that in your phone's subscription settings.
- Download your data if you want to keep a copy: Account → Your data → Download.
